Empire Earth.exe Has Stopped Working
I bought Empire Earth - Gold Edition on GOG last night, assuming that it would work on Windows 8. Every time I load in, I get maybe 30 seconds in the various menu screens, before the whole thing locks up for reasons I can't understand.I've made sure I'm using my nVidia graphics card, not the integrated Intel one. I've installed the NeoEE patch, tried changing the rasterizer, setting it to not wait for vsync, tried compatibility settings, restarted my machine, uninstalled and reinstalled, tried running it using the 3D-Analyser, but it still just freezes on the menu screen.
Starcraft 2 legacy of the void campaign units. How can the answer be improved?
I tried deleting the DirectX dll files, but then it just causes the entire thing to crash when AOC is launched. Every other problem I see when searching is about graphics issues, or the game just crashing as soon as it is launched. Please tell me there is a solution for this menu freezing. As it stands, I can't even start a game without the entire thing locking up. I fixed this issue, not 100% sure exactly what was the fix, but I'll post the details of what I did so that if someone else has this issue they can try what I did to fix it. Changed the Rasterizer and Wait for V-Sync options in the registry.
Installed the game again. Installed the patches from first then the patch from. Set the V-Sync Mode in my nVidia control panel to Application Controlled, and made sure that the game was using my nVidia graphics card rather than the integrated Dell graphics card. The menu didn't freeze up and I'm so happy that it works! Hopefully this can help someone else in my situation. I have the same problem but I wanted to add to the accepted answer under point 1 because it isn't 100% clear for anyone else facing this problem:you need to edit a registry value (winkey+r, type 'regedit' and pressenter): change: 'HKEYCURRENTUSERSoftwareSSSIEmpire EarthWait forVSync' From 1 to 0. Also, change'HKEYCURRENTUSERSoftwareSSSIEmpire EarthRasterizer Name' to:'Direct3D Hardware TnL' - copy the exact text wihout the 'I was unable to install the patches you linked though. An error came up both times, saying that it couldn't find something, and the installation quit.
If you've already done the fix for the 'can't find steam' bit but launching the game still doesn't work and you get a bit about the configuration utility not working (which I got even when I didn't go into config), you can go into the Jade Empire folder in and create a new desktop shortcut from the exe file. The default shortcut did not work and launching it from the steam library doesn't work but the shortcut I manually created from the exe file seems to work great.Once you're in the game, you can set the configuration however you want. Also, I have Win10. Any idea what coudl cause this?Don't make a shortcut for the launcher, make the shortcut for the actual game. There's a Jade Empire Launcher exe and a Jade Empire exe.
Make sure the shortcut is for the Jade Empire exe and not the launcher.I did the shortcut for the actual game and all it does is move my mouse cursor to a certain spot on the screen each time and give me a spinning icon for a second and then nothing. Any help would be appreciated.

Remove all compatibility to the 4 executables files except 'Run as admin'Run the game. Do not ever enter configuration at launch. It crashes anyways.Play the game.
Then go to configuration inside the game using keyboard keys or INI file.Set resolution to max in order to get the mouse cursor working. All right now you can play!

I just got Empire Total War and Installed it and played the game for 5 hours then it just shuts down and says it has stopped working. Now it happens more and more often. I had the same problem with World in Conflict but now that works fine.
